Hidden away between these big stores there are tiny shops selling all kind of fun stuff. Look into it in the smaller back streets. The Neubaugasse for example offers a lot of smaller shops that sell second hand clothing or sustainable and green products.
Some of these shops have a long tradition and were already popular in the times when Austria was ruled by emperors. These are for example the porcelain factory Augarten, the court jeweler Heldwein and also the court perfumery Nägele & Strubell.
Locals call it the 'city’s stomach'. The Naschmarkt is open from Monday to Saturday. Buy some regional honey or have a ´Uhudler´, a fruity wine and Austrian rarity.
