Hamdi Arpaci arrived in Istanbul in the 1960s and almost immediately established a street stand near the Spice Bazaar where he grilled and sold tasty kebabs. His kebabs became one of the best in town!

If you come on your own and feel like walking, make the 15-minute stroll uphill from Eyüp through a charming cemetery or take the cable car, and walk down to Eyüp after your coffee.
It´s definitely a place to see and to be seen in Izmir. Besides your cake order you should go for an original Turkish coffee. Beware though that the Turkish coffee is bitter, you might need your water and sweets.
