We recommend Churros: Traditionally-made deepfried waffles or crullers consisting of dough of flour, salt and water. They have a slightly oily aroma, and crunchy texture. Traditionally, they are being dipped in hot chocolate.
Hamdi Arpaci arrived in Istanbul in the 1960s and almost immediately established a street stand near the Spice Bazaar where he grilled and sold tasty kebabs. His kebabs became one of the best in town!
Reservations are a must, because the restaurant is very small. After a cheese fondue we recommend ordering some of the very good cherry brandy.
Poutine is a common Canadian dish, originating in Quebec, made with french fries, topped with a light brwon gravy-like sauce and cheese curds. Crazy combos range from hot peppers & Tabasco, to feta cheese, and guacamole. For the ultimate gluttonous experience, order the T-Rex (poutine topped with ground beef, pepperoni, bacon, and hot dogs).
The highlight is denoted by the excellent Pissaladière. Pissaladière is a dish which originated from Nice is usually a bread dough thicker than that of the classic Italian pizza, and the traditional topping consists of caramelised onions, olives, garlic and anchovies.
