It is sometimes confused with the later built and better-preserved Odeon of Herodes Atticus, located on the nearby southwest slope of the Acropolis.
Entrance is very cheap and a very interesting audio guide is included. The view from the upper seats is simply breathtaking. Perfect place to understand the olympic spirit!
There is a lot of walking on uneven pavement. Wear comfortable shoes and try to go early if you want to avoid the crowds.
The building itself is not open except when events take place, but the slopes above offer a great view into the Odeon.
Strolling through the ruins of the Agora, one can't escape the unbearable weight of history that hovers about the place.
