Its menu features Bavarian dishes such as roast pork, pork knuckle, and sausages such as the popular traditional Weisswurst. Helles is served in a Maß (one liter mug), along with wheat beer and wine. During regular hours, traditional Bavarian music is played: 'In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus, oans, zwoa, g'suffa!' (Literally: In Munich a brewery is located, one, two, drink up!)
Veal and pork knuckles from the grill are among the most popular classics of Bavarian cuisine. The knuckles are coming from the butcher, marinated for several hours in a blend of herbs and then cooked in the restaurant on a charcoal grill.
When the bartender rings the bell, the guest always knows that a new oak barrel - a "deer" - was tapped with the popular precious beer inside. Keep in mind before you sit down that there are always a lot of reserved round tables.
To make the daily Maß affordable, which is a one liter mug, you can bring your radishes, bread and meat salad from home and consume them in the self-sevice area in the beer garden. Only cool beverages and beer have to be purchased from the innkeeper. Thats´ a typical Bavarian "Brotzeit" (snack).
