West Point is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 6,033 at the 2000 census.
The city has continued to grow very quickly and estimates for 2008 have reached 8,000. Primarily, the growth has been centered around single-family residential construction. Commercial developers have begun purchasing property in the area to provide the necessary commercial services. Commercial developments have been proposed at 300 North 2000 West and around the city hall at 300 North 3000 West.
The North Davis Fire District has recently completed and occupied their headquarters at approximately 350 North 3150 West.
West Point was first settled in 1867. The area was originally known as South Hooper.
