The Little Angel Theatre is a puppet theatre catering for children, families and adults, off Upper Street in the London Borough of Islington. The 100 seat theatre, in a former Temperance hall, was opened on 24 November 1961, by founder John Wright. In January 2006, Peter Glanville took over as artistic director. The theatre is both a producing and receiving house, showing work throughout the year other than for a short time in the summer. The theatre also runs participation activities for adults, teenagers and children on a termly basis. Professional development of puppeteers and the development of new work is supported by a continuing programme of work. In 2007, the company participated with the RSC in a production of Venus and Adonis using Japanese Bunraku puppets.
