Hillsboro Beach is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The town was named for the Earl of Hillsborough, who received large grants of land from the King of England while Florida was an English possession. The 3.2-mile strip along State Road A1A includes an exclusive stretch called "Hillsboro Mile" or "Millionaires Mile". The population was 2,163 at the 2000 census. As of 2006, the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is 2,334. It is part of the South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to 5,463,857 people.
