Chibi City (Chinese: 赤壁; pinyin: Chìbì) is a city of about 133,000 in southwestern Hubei province, Central China. The city was originally named Puqi (蒲圻) until 11 June 1998, when the State Council approved the renaming to "Chibi" to tie the city to the famous historical Battle of Chibi. It is administratively a county-level city of Xianning City.
Chibi has an area of 1,723 square kilometres (665 sq mi) and a population of 506,509 as of 2006.
