Ibberton is a village in north Dorset, England, situated in the Blackmore Vale under the scarp face of the Dorset Downs hills, five miles south of Sturminster Newton and seven miles west of Blandford Forum. The village has a population of 134 (As of 2001). Ibberton is the modern day name of the community, in the Domesday Book, it was recorded as Abristentona, later as Ebrictinton and Edbrichton. Variants of the name are probably from Eadbeorht the Saxon when he and his people set up homes on the hillside of the face of the Dorset Downs hills. Ibberton is most well known for its picturesque scenery, including the Ibberton Oval Cricket Ground which is set in the village.
